    I think its always a give-take mechanism up there, on high level.

    I think I missed that one, did Turkey leave NATO? So there are no US bases on turkish territory anymore?

    Nope, i told that as an outcome of the conflicts between Turkey and the US, a NATO member even considering to leave is an important event. The permissions of a southern base(Incirlik, Adana) has also been reviewed at the mentioned time.
