Costaction and Filemanager usability improvements

A series of affiliate program usability improvements continues, and today we would like to talk about the adjustments to an interface displaying. A number of different tests have been performed, and Costaction has been optimized for the latest versions of the most popular browsers:

Also, from now on system will remember the last project that you opened to view in the menu on the left (turbobit or hitfile) and the next visit it will be opened automatically.
On the page "Detailed Statistics" in the section of earnings for today, previously current information could be delayed for a period of more than 4 hours. Now, the stats are updated every 4 hours without any delays.

An important fix was made for filemanager. Previously there was a problem, when generating links to files, the system added an additional line wrap between the links, which sometimes hindered the work process of our partners. The problem has been identified and addressed.

Optimization of the "failed payment" page for conversion raise

The purchase process is an important part of daily user activity on our file hostings. But it is also important to consider the cases when users tried to make a purchase, and something went wrong.
According to our statistics, the average user can attempt to pay 1 or 2 times, but the maximum number of attempts can reach 6. That is why we decided to renew the page that users ended up seeing when an attempt of payment is unsuccessful. Many use the VPN these days, and sometimes forget to turn it off or choose the right country (the page with subscription types offers to choose a country, which is sometimes ignored), and randomly select payment solutions that are not available for their country.
Now, the page "failed payment" gives an opportunity to change the selected country of payment right on the spot, and also provides more time and variety to buy. Suggested payment solutions are displayed based on two factors - the last method chosen by the buyer, and several others, the most popular for their country. Thanks to the a/b tests, we can confidently assert that the conversion has increased compared to past values for a similar period. That's why we would like to share that news with you. Hopefully, some partners have already been able to see some increases in purchase stats compared to the last similar periods of income.

 

Fast file transfer via FTP

Many of the partners upload files using FTP.
This type of upload connects many different functions, because of which all the improvements are made carefully.
Recently, we have often received feedback that the speed of transferring files provided by our FTP - 6 minutes - is not high enough compared to competitive FHs.
This time limit was set to ensure that files selected for upload are uploaded on the server for sure, not damaged, and fully available to be downloaded.
We have reviewed this aspect, and conducted a number of tests and configurations so that all partners can now enjoy the ability to freely switch the preferred time of FTP file transfer!
Now time can be set within 1 to 5 minutes, providing an opportunity to customize your preferences.
The setting is available in filemanager FTP section.

A new format for purchase letters!

We have a long successful tradition to send customers letters that motivate them to return and renew a subscription in case it expires. The same story with the emails aimed to return users who have visited the payment page and started the purchase process but have not completed it.
Mailing clients and various smart filters nowadays certainly influence this process. That is why it was decided to revise and improve the algorithm of those types of letters and their content.

The results were immediate. According to the conducted tests, the probability of receiving letters in spam was significantly reduced, and the new revised letter template allowed to increase in the conversion rate for the transition from mail to the site. We expect it would help to raise an opportunity for users to buy more and subscribe.

 

New tool: fast file copy

We received questions about the ways to quickly create a link to a file on another project - for example, if you have a turbobit link, but you need a hitfile one. And you are not feeling like using the search or reloading the file. There are also cases when you just need a file copy but via a different link.


For such cases, we made a new tool in the filemanager called "Fast file copy".
Usage guide:
1. Enter links turbobit OR hitfile (cannot be mixed)
2. Specify the type of output links
- file copies on the same project, but via different link (turbobit -> turbobit) / (hitfile -> hitfile)
- file copy on another project (turbobit -> hitfile and vice versa)

Important: only the files you own can be copied using this tool.

The "Search and use existing copies" option is enabled by default and responsible for searching for an existing copy in your account, in case it doesn't exist, a new copy is automatically created.

Filemanager update - new display format for a multitude of files

After launching the new manager to work with files, we got a lot of different feedback from partners, especially about the load speed of the filemanager if partner's account has a great many files and folders uploaded. It was decided to revise the algorithm that decides what will be loaded first and displayed to the partner.

Before, we loaded all first-level folders and all their nested objects all along. Now for partners with a large number of files/folders, nested objects are no longer loaded immediately. When you open a folder, all objects of this folder are loaded if the sub-items nested are less than 40. If the number of elements is more than 40, the first 40 are loaded and the "show more" button is displayed as an option.
There were also some visual enhancements to the interface.

Online player for videos!

It's a pleasure to announce something many of partners have been waiting for: our filehostiing sites now support watching videos online!
On the download page of some videos, you can find opportunities to watch them online. By default, you can get the first 30 seconds with a further premium prompt, allowing you to continue watching without any restrictions. Video resolution to choose between 360p and 720p.

Our system successfully differentiates and converts most formats of uploaded video files, such as avi, mkv, etc. But it is worth noting that now only popular videos are subjected to conversion for online viewing. The restriction is temporary and necessary for the analysis and collection of statistics. All further features are planned for the next version of the player. Therefore, all the conditions described above are subject to change.

The main goal of the player is to increase conversion and add a wider range of ways to monetize uploaded content. In the next update, you can expect: custom settings for the online player of your videos through a costaction account, optimization for mobile devices, Embed-version with the previews, single sign-on allowing users to view directly from the partner’s site, and more.

Login with the premium code

We would like to share information regarding turbobit and hitfile account login rules.
For both users and partners, after purchasing premium access, a premium code can be used as a password for an account.
This condition has recently got changed. If an affiliate program is activated in the account and there is an income on the balance, each attempt to log in with a premium code will require additional confirmation via e-mail. This change was made to improve account security. Therefore, we strongly recommend for partners set their own individual passwords if you have not done so.

Embed Codes for Online Video

For partners who tried out a new feature of publishing video files with online watching enabled, we prepared a new interesting update. Now in the file manager, by selecting a video file with online player enabled, in addition to the usual links, new tabs with various formats of embed codes will appear. Which means that premium users will be able to watch videos directly on your website, blog or forum with just a few clicks! To publish a video file with such a feature, all you need to do is to select the appropriate type of embed code.

Now Two or More Purse Types Can Be Added for Payout Requests

For a long time on our affiliate site it was impossible to use more than one wallet of each type. That is, you could not use two Paypal accounts, two or more Webmoney, etc. The restriction was necessary to improve security in case of a hack. But since we’ve recently overhauled our algorithms of partners' account protection, it’s time to change that! Now anyone can as many wallets of any type as they want (for example, two Paypal accounts, three Bitcoin accounts, etc.) and switch them off when requesting a payment. Please note that when new details are added, verification is still required.

Also, in Costaction we moved the file manager button to a more obvious place. Important Change: Some additional settings were moved from Turbobit site to the file manager (access it by clicking the gear icon in the top right corner).

 

YooMoney, PerfectMoney, and Debit/Credit Cards Withdrawal Methods Will Have Commission Rates UpdatedWe are making some adjustments to our commission rates, which will allow our partners to benefit from more favorable conditions for income withdrawal.

Starting from March 1st, 2023, Yoomoney's commission rate will be reduced from 8% to 7%, allowing our partners to save more on transaction fees.

Additionally, we are updating PerfectMoney's commission rate from 0% to 0.5%, to ensure that we are providing our partners with a more flexible and secure withdrawal method.

Lastly, we are pleased to inform our partners that we are reducing the commission rate when requesting payout to VISA/MasterCard/MIR debit/credit cards (UA, RU, KZ) from 3.5% to 3%.

These updates to our commission rates are just one of the many ways we are constantly working to improve our platform and support our partners.

 

Video Player for all of your videos

We are pleased to announce that you can now activate a video player feature for all of your videos. Previously, the feature to convert videos for online viewing was only available for videos that had a certain amount of downloads. This was necessary to allow time to conduct testing and ensure optimal performance.
However, we are thrilled to announce that each partner can now choose whether to convert all uploaded video files for online viewing or only popular* ones. This gives our partners greater flexibility in managing their video content and more opportunities to increase their income.
The settings can be found in the file manager, by clicking on the gear in the upper right corner.
It is important to note that the setting "to enable the video player for all uploaded videos" will only apply to videos uploaded after the option is enabled. Videos uploaded earlier will require a re-upload.

 

New API Page

We have noticed that our API page has not been updated regularly, which has caused confusion among our partners. We are pleased to inform you that we have addressed this issue and now you can find the updated API documentation in the "File Manager" -> "Tools" section, with a completely new layout.

To access the updated API documentation, simply log in to your costaction personal account, select "File Manager", and a new window will open. Click on "Tools" and select "API" to find the project selector for turbobit/hitfile. Please note that the full-text code example has been removed from the page and is now available for download separately. Additionally, we have systematized and simplified the blocks with API upload methods to make it easier for you to understand and use.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the lack of updates, and we hope that these changes will provide you with the information you need to work with our API effectively.

 

Improvements to File Manager

We understand that filtering files is an important aspect of working with them, and to address this need, we have introduced a new filter that allows you to view files uploaded during a specific time interval. We hope that this new feature will prove useful to many of our partners.

Additionally, we have implemented an update that affects our online video player. Now, the embed code for the player will be available immediately after uploading the file, even if the file is still being converted. We have also added statuses and hints to keep you informed about the video processing status, such as "processing", "being converted" and etc. To view additional information, you can hover your mouse over the clock icon in the file upload grid.

New Feature - Trial "Unlimited" Storage Status

In a recent update, we are delighted to announce that all partners now have the opportunity to enjoy an "unlimited" file storage status. This trial status aims to enhance flexibility and convenience for all active partners who may have experienced difficulties with file’s storing.

"Unlimited" status essentially means that stored files will not be deleted throughout the duration of this status. Additionally, the expiration period will be halted, preventing any further decrease in time (only while status is active).
To access this trial status, simply navigate to the dashboard.

In the "File Storage Period" section, a new button "Get Unlimited Status" will be available. Please note that the status can also be automatically assigned by the system.

We are particularly pleased to offer a trial status to partners who have expressed the need for storing files for a specific period without any earnings requirements. The trial status will allow you to enjoy the benefits of "Unlimited" storage for a duration of up to 2 months. However, it's important to note that the status can only be activated once per year.
To keep track of your unlimited status history, we have implemented a convenient activation log. The activations are sorted based on the most recent date of activation, allowing you to easily review your usage history.

New Video Statistics Page

Not long ago, we implemented the long-awaited feature of online video watching, which provides new opportunities for monetizing your video content. All converted video files are available for online watching to users with premium access.
Naturally, after some time, questions arise about user engagement with this feature and its profitability for partners. That's why we have developed statistics page where partners can review and analyze all the necessary information.

Available metrics include:
• Total video views (for the last 24 hours)
• Number of viewers (24 hours)
• Number of new videos converted after upload (24 hours)
• Number of sales generated precisely via video player (24 hours)
• Linear chart of views/viewers/sales for the last 7 days, with additional filters
• Detailed daily income statistics in tabular form

Also, since there are several ways to use the online player, for partners' convenience, we have added some categorization:
“embed” - player embedded on your website using a code snippet
“on-site” - video player available by default on the turbobit.net download page
“full” - full-featured player without restrictions, available to premium users
“demo” - player with a preview video version, available to regular users
