Hi all, I'm about to upload ip boards to my server because phpbb2 sucks. :D
My problem is I want to use a subdomain for the forum and Im not sure how to set up the subdomain. Can I just post a link to a folder named
"forum" in the same folder as my websites index.htm file? Heres a pic of my subdomain admin section.

I want the forum to be like this, http://www.forum.plentyoftorrents.com

    Thanks for any help.

Yes - you have it correct. Create the subdomain - forum.plentyoftorrents.com and have the domain point to a folder (with the name of you choosing) in the wwwroot of your hosting space.

So it cant be http://plentyoftorrents.com/forum/ ?
    It has to be www/root/.........

If I play around with it could I risk messing up my homepage?

I didn't intend to be confusing with the www/root comment. The main point is that you point the subdomain to a folder in your hosting space. In your instance than http://plentyoftorrents.com/forum will work (assumming that you have created a "forum" folder in your webspace.

If you are just adding a sub-domain there should be no risk to messing up your main domain's home page.

I see that the forum at http://www.plentyoftorrents.com/forum seems to be working. I see that forums.plentyoftorrents.com does not seem to resolve to anything. Can you share another screenshot from your control panel of how the subdomain is configured? Just by the adding the elements already mentioned it should have worked...

Also in looking at your control panel screenshot you may need to use the "masking" option to point to the folder on your webspace rather than the "forwarding" option.

Your problem may have just been the initial DNS propagation period for the subdomain- http://forum.plentyoftorrents.com/ is now resolving to your forum as it should.
    Cheers.
