When I join commission junction and then select programs apparently you have a choice of java or html to past in a site? When I do that does that mean there is a code in it already to make sure I get credit for the sale? Whether there is or not how do I get paid?

Once you have found an advertiser you wish to post links for, you have to apply to the advertiser's program. Some advertisers will automatically approve you as a publisher (affiliate), others will manually review your "application" before approving or denying you access to their program.

Once you're approved by an advertiser, you can browse through the creative they have for you to choose from. When you find one you like, then you will have the option (usually) to pick javascript or HTML code to place on your website.

Short answer: yes, the code you get will already have your tracking information encoded. Just copy and paste it as-is into your website. CJ does all of the tracking for you. You can view reports in your CJ account to see which of your websites and which links are converting into commissions and how much commission you have earned. Each advertiser pays the commissions to CJ, which in turn pays the affiliate (you).

As far as how you get paid, I think the only options right now are to have a check mailed to you or to do a direct deposit into your bank account. I use direct deposit because it's fast and easy. You get paid at the end of each month for the previous month's commissions, so long as you earned at least $25 for that month.

I recommend reading through CJU Online to get you up to speed quickly. The link is in the top right area of your member's page, just below the black top border.

    Much fortune to you!

Christine is exactly right...the code CJ gives you already has your affiliate link embedded. And you have the option to encrypt it, have the link open into a new window, etc.
