The site I am trying to rank higher in is listed below in my sig. I am trying to out rank the other websites listed in google under the keyword " free appz ". So far the best i've gotten is 7th place, but it's for a backlink to another website. Is there anyway I can beat the race to outrank the others? I havn't done ALT tags, only labels and just simple text. Is there something else I could do to my blog to help this?
you improve some onsite work to boost your ranking, try to make keyword reach content and put relevant title on your blog.
your efforts may be misguided. Have you checked to see if anyone is actually searching for "free appz"?
I agree with this one, from my own experience, i just did link building using my target as an anchor and in 2weeks my site appears in first page from nowhere
Use the DP keyword suggestion tool to check for actual searches of a keyword before you spend time targeting it. http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/suggestion/ "free appz" is only searched for 1.9 times a day (wordtracker has it at zero) so your time would be better spend on a different keyword that has a chance to bring you traffic.
Right, this should be done first before you proceed to target the keyword. Try also overture for keyword suggestion.
yea I did, there wasn't much. Basically, i'm just taking whatever I know about the most, making a blog, and trying to get traffic. I can't seem to find a relevant site that shows demands for specific search trends.
obviously, in your example, 50,000 is considered a lot. but with just 50,000 links, I mean ordinary links, it may stand out by 500 quality links.
Start from the start mate, sort your on-site optimisation out. Put all of the code that should be in CSS into CSS, that cuts out the irrelevant stuff and then have a look at your meta tags, they're a bit messy and need some optimisation! Also, who looks for free appz, investigate your target word, there maybe more relevant ones that are easier to get.
According to this tool keyworddiscovery.com/search.html there are only 41 search for this keyword. I would suggest go for something else.
