I don't think I'm using the wordpress platform; how do I know? Doesn't: that URL of thevanitymirror.com say it all, namely that I'm not? How do I find out?

No. Because you're redirecting it to your WP.com blog.

The easiest way to check is to go to the WP Dashboard on your site. Do you have options like "Store" and "Blogs I follow"? Is the "Plugins" menu missing?

If so, you're on WP hosting. If not, you're self-hosted.

No, the "Plugins" menu is missing; guess that means I'm not self-hosted.

How do I remedy this? Just what do I buy, and how do I buy it?

It's all in the other thread. You need to buy some hosting (cheap shared hosting is easy, or even go free), install WP and transfer your posts there. You will also have to point your domain name at the hosting you buy.

Google searches will provide exact details of absolutely everything you are asking, now that you know what to search for.

I started a new blog and wrote 10 Unique well researched articles and traffic started to pour in and even after 10 months with no fresh content the traffic comes daily due to quality of the articles I wrote on the blog.

Well, that's what I thought I did, for crying out aloud! I don't mind learning, and know it takes time and effort, but when it's so stressful, this is why I've gotten annoyed.

Look--Wordpress.com is already using my domain; how much am I going to need to tear down? Look--I just need someone to work with me through process, that's it--not spending a huge amount of time rocking back and forth, asking myself questions, whilst staring at a screen, getting out of sorts.

    It's really not difficult.

What you did: started blogging on WP.com, bought a domain name, pointed that domain name at your WP.com blog. This does not magically move your blog onto self-hosted WP.

What you want to do: buy some hosting, point your domain name at that hosting, set up self-hosted WP, Export your posts from your WP.com blog and Import them into the new blog. And that's it.

The precise steps depend on your hosting provider and what you buy. For example, setting up self-hosted WP might be as simple as clicking an "Install WordPress" button on a hosting control panel, or you might have to download the latest version from WP.org and upload it to your space.

I visited your blog. What are you trying to achieve on your blog? You just want readers?

Well, I'd like ad revenue, ultimately, but more to the point, I need to start showing off my Vanity Mirror Project to others, long and short. I need eyeballs, of course, but not just any eyeballs--ones that will appreciate what I'm doing, namely.

And TIEro: So, first thing I do for my blog is to buy hosting for it, yes? Like on Hostgator? Somebody along the line recommended at it, and I'm looking at it's plans here: http://www.hostgator.com/shared

Bluehost, http://www.bluehost.com/, I hear, promotes a one-click for Wordpress, explictitly.

Any of them sound like a good buy for what I'm trying to do?

Most web hosts today offer "one-click" WordPress installations :)

don't waste your time to do blog comments, coz usually many spammers there, it's not increase your visitors... optimize it with good seo, slowly but sure :)

Yes buy a hatching plan at Hostgator.

Follow their instructions to point your domain to your new hosting and then use the one click Wordpress install they provide (they have help tutorials and live support).

Then transfer your blogs over to your new site - this will have to be done manually but just copy and paste is easy enough.

Blog comments when done PROPERLY are NOT a waste of time. It's not about spamming your link on thousands of unchecked blogs but interacting and networking on relevant blogs and occassionally dropping your link where relevant to an article on your site and watching the traffic flow INSTANTLY.

None of this waiting 3 months for SEO traffic to come - IF it comes at all!

This is the problem of your traffic solutions..

With SEO, you have organic traffic that comes to your websites.
Great choices if you want to build your sites for a long term project..

Using social media is also how you can get traffic fast..
Follow users in your niche, be active, engage them.. You can use Twitter, facebook group, pinterest, etc..

If you want to get a free traffic, then you must spend some time to get them :)

Search engine optimization is enhancing the rankings of the keywords you are working on. This can be done by getting backlinks for them from authoritative websites related to your niche. Submitting informative content is also important.

Socialmedia traffic is very easy to reach, just share after you write (pretty easy). In my opinion if you do blogging 2-3 times per day you get decent traffic from search engines (with the right plugins)

Social media wise, all you have to do is be yourself online. You seem like an open minded person ready to interact with others to get advice. Tweet about that. The whole "I don't know how to do twitter, but here I am" first tweet is a cliche, but it's true and genuine, so it's fine.
Don't spam with links. If every post in your timeline (twitter, facebook, anywhere, really) has a link in it, it's going to ring alarm bells in the heads of anyone who's thinking about following you.
Interact with people. Ask questions, answer other people's tweets. Look for people who have the same interests with you on twitter, and build a connection with them. Just talk. Eventually they might even share YOUR posts with THEIR followers.
Pretend the internet is just like real life, and talk to people about everything, no just about the blog you have.
That, and "stock up on patience" is as much advice as anyone can give you. :)

    Good luck!

Well, I actually believe in having something to actually say when I write. One guy here: http://shatteredsmoke.com/ doesn't give much care to that, and it frankly appalls me. As to twitter, I only have a flip phone; I be poor.

Oh, and I also think I will try Hostgator, but my big concern right now is effectively finding blogs, (and I think I will keep up with blogs) but that fectively leaves me to looking on Wordpress, doesn't it, because various other blog forms are hard to manage.

    Correct?

You can just use Twitter on your computer if you don't have a smart phone. Also there are free WordPress plugins that automatically tweet your blog posts to your Twitter feed.
