    Just started using Blogger. I wanted to add an AdSense banner in the blank area under last sentence ULTIMATE ICEBREAKER here: http://dailywebcartoon.blogspot.com - I already have an existing AdSense account and copied the code from my notepad and pasted it in (via HTML mode) and published the blog but nothing appears....any suggestions?

    hi in my opinion put adsense code above fold of your template.This is how u can do it..

    1.Login into your blogger account.
    2.Click Layout.
    3.Click edit html.
    4.Check Expand widget Templates Box
    5.Scroll down till u reach these lines:
    <div class='post-header-line-1'/>

    <div class='post-body entry-content'>

    Paste your adsense code between thses lines.Even if you do that there will be a blank space as u told.So do one thing....

    replace < in your adsense code with &lt; and
    replace > in your adsense code with &gt;

    Dont worry you are not modifying the adsense code as it is against google tos.when u paste the code as i have said..open your blog and go to view...source code.You will get to see the same code as google gives u in the account.If u have any problems u can pm me:)

    1 point-
    try to use your own domain...
    i learnt a lesson the hard way...
    i had worked upto PR2 on blogger...
    then my domain got shifted due too some mistake and i could not get it back...
    so if u r thinking big, then buy your own domain and preferably hosting too so that you can use wordpress

    ....but I don't know....where is that WIDGET box you check when in HTML mode? I saw that when I first started this thing and now when I want to see it, it isn't visible. It was constandly on the upper right corner there but now gone....a bit frustrating....I'm damn glad I never started WordPress....

    (how I get into my blog) . . . LOG IN>DASHBOARD>MANAGE POSTS>EDIT>then in Posting tab I am already in Edit Post>Edit Html tab so....where is that box to check for EXPAND ....etc.
    Ironically when setting this up, getting used to layout etc etc. that box was all over the top and viewable....so now, when I want to see it, it isn't there...

    Always happens like this...

    Well, I ALREADY own www.danscartoons.com and my main focus for starting a blog was to enhance the availability of my daily image to bloggers...simple as that. Word Press is out - too much riggamorrow and I logged onto their message board or forum and it was too goofy...posts float off the board and you need to go looking backward for answers. Then with all the plug-ins and tweaking the HTML and waiting for answers isn't worth it. Blogger was too convenient although alot of tabs and extra clicking around you have to do I notice. In any case, I suppose I could move my http://dailywebcartoon.blogspot.com within my own www.danscartoons.com? That's probably another adventure for later.
    Hopefully I can get all these other things ironed out with adding code in the html for showing ads to at least enhance and offset any future hosting fees if I do decide to get the blog inside my own domain. Will see, I may just abandon the entire concept - who knows!

    Thought I would attach a screenshot to show where I am in Blogger, as in TENPLATE>EDIT HTML and as is evident, NO expand widgets box (????)
    So you know I am not blind

    I visited another forum and someone said to UPGRADE THE LAYOUT. When you click that, you can then see all of the nuances available to checkmark. However, that widget box should be visible no matter what....makes it difficult for people otherwise....and very time consuming in that you need to click all over and like me, then do online searches for other keywords to hopefully find a "fix"....I notice alot of garbage involved with Blogger....as much as with WordPress, in order to achieve simple results. Thank you though - VERY MUCH- for that previous input.

    ....I am now into the HTML and have fully dissected it thouroughly...NO (abslutely NONE) in the HTML exists which reads: <div class+'post-body entry-content'> in my html. So I see, it is a comedy of errors in trying to set up these blogs. How about I email or PM you all of the code on my page (in fact I will) watch for PM please....this gets a little ridiculous, hope it is OK to bother you. THANK YOU all others for previous help!
