Ok. I made my blog last Thursday. I am finding it rather hard to find some relevant traffic. The only "traffic" I am getting is from going to gaming and computer forums and posting my site up. 1. I am not indexed into google yet. Is this one of the biggest reasons for no traffic? 2. I have 0 back links. I am trying to get some but it is kind of difficult to get a back link from a PR 5 +. 3. Would anyone check out my site and tell me what they think about it? Is my content good? Do I have a good Niche? Is it good or bad to blog about things off topic every now and then? Here is the website. I can not post URLs yet. So add a "w." ww.computerfasternow.blogspot.com
live link, www.computerfasternow.blogspot.com one thing i learned is to keep the content fresh, daily if possible, have your signature link on forums is good. Also create a site map and submit it to google, yahoo. you can also submit to directories.
To start picking up traffic, try Linkreferral.com As for not being indexed yet, did you submit your site to google, yahoo and msn? And of course if you are not indexed you won't get any organic traffic and for gosh sakes...your site is less than a week old!!! It could be months before you start picking up organic traffic. your site looks good and you have a lot of good information you'll have to just keep marketing it....write articles....post on forums with the link in your signature...give it time
Until you're indexed by Google (and the other SEs), and ranking well, you're not going to see much if any traffic from them. It took my site many weeks before Google and the others started indexing it, and months before it started to rank for any keywords.. Since you're on a Blogspot blog (owned by Google), you might get indexed sooner, but you're still going to have to pay your dues before you start ranking well (and getting regular traffic).. also, sometime in the next month or so, dont be suprised when you see a small surge of traffic from google, only to see it evaporate away after 4 or 5 days.. this is normal. In the meantime, use that time to your advantage by writing more content - 10 posts isnt going to cut it - 10 posts/pages per week might be a good goal to set - more if you have the time or are more aggressive.. It's best to keep things on topic - it doesnt matter as much to the search engines, but for returning traffic it's better if they have an idea of what your blog is about - an off-topic post now and then is probably fine.. "Good Niche" ? what do you mean? Do you mean, is that subject high paying and will it make you a lot of money? - i'm sure that's not what you're asking because blogs/sites that are created solely to make money fail 98% of the time.. If the niche/topic is something you are good at and you enjoy, then it's a good niche.. now go write some more content
Thank you. Those tips were very insightful. I will check out that link website. As for now...Gotta do more research and write more!
