Hi, So I need help finding a solution to my problem, that I believe should already have a solution - I just don't know the right way to articulate the problem for google to send me the right way. Basically what I need is some sort of online script/ widget that can via IP address tell where a visitor is from, and depending on where they are from say a specific message/ graphic. This has to exist somewhere right? Can anyone help me out? Thanks!
You need a geolocation database. Several are listed here. iplocation.net/ About the best you can hope for is 80% accuracy for a paid service and around 60% accuracy for free services. There is also the problem of users who are using a proxy or spoofing the ip to remain anonymous. they could be anywhere and the ip is totally meaningless.
