Trying to contact Domain owner to purchase, but email bounces

I'm trying to contact the owner of a domain to see if they would consider selling their site. They have content and good PR -- and I see a lot of value in the site. They haven't updated the site in years, but their forums still have activity. The site's technical contact is the web host, but the owner is the admin. What's the best way to try and purchase the site? The domain does not expire until 2008.

    Thanks.

Can you find the owners name?

It can take a lot of work/digging sometimes to get in touch with an owner but the rewards can justify the effort. If you get a name/location you can digg from there, if your emails bounce look to contact the admin of the forum.

If you want to pm me with the domain I will try to help you locate the info -

another suggestion is to report it to their registrar that the contact info is incorrect - internic requires it be correct

Contact the webhost and ask them to forward your email to the domain owner.

Why not send them a letter by snail-mail?
