Hi everybody I am trying to come back in this field again after 8-9 years. I was an active member back then here but now I am totally lost that what has happened and where the community has disappeared. Majority of the old members are inactive. It used to be a very warm and interesting place. I am missing it.
Welcome back, they all left one after the other. I have 276 followers, all who I had some kind of contact with. Now I hear from perhaps 3 or 4 of them, and then only once in awhile.
Welcome back. Some are still here! The internet is still changing things with big effects. Remote Work Is Poised to Devastate America’s Cities In order to survive, cities must let developers convert office buildings into housing. In New York, meanwhile, Meta has ditched 450,000 square feet of office space. Across the nation as a whole, only about 47 percent of offices are occupied. ↑ From nymag.com. ↑ All those new people who do not want to take a ride in their car to get to work are now....online. A certain percentage of them will be open to your offer so today is a good day to be an online marketer and webmaster. Good luck!
For what they left? What's new place for those guys? I must admit that I am feeling emotionally attached to that community. There were a lot of good guys and I learned a lot here but then I started my offline endeavors and left this community. I was expecting ten times more activity here. I remember those days when Shawn introduced SPY feature and it was just crazy to see live activity and there was ton of activity. Now it's 100x less active. But what's the reason? What happened? Shawn and other mods were really nice and used to manage community very well.
What's 3 like system? I have been looking into Facebook groups too but there are not very many big groups with 100k+ members. DP crossed that figure nearly a decade ago. But how can microblogging like Twitter could replace bulletin boards and there discussions could also not be arranged. Where's happening all old style buy/sell these days?
You have to have at least 3 likes to be established. If your not established you can't post threads in the BST sections.
Hey there, I am from way back as well. Miss seeing old faces but I see there's some still around. Well, welcome back to us I guess, lol!
Nice to hear from you. How did that mass flight happened? Do you know what's the popular and busy place now among webmaster community?
I don't see why it caused the dryness. It's apparently good to establish some credibility of the poster and three likes is not that uphill task. And even if it was causing flight why Shawn didn't try to tweak it?
Hey, I have no idea. I guess it's what Spoiltdiva said. I'd love to know if there's other places but haven't found anything.
Ah, they weren't really that good. We had tons of spammers, and there was also a couple of really nasty trolls on here.
I stayed active here till about 2011 till then it was a very nice place. Maybe with the boom in later years must had brought spammers and trolls along the way. But now except handful of old members nobody is active.
