Trying to add interactive map to site

    the first is using html image maps. you will need to have a picture from US with all the states and then define the states in the image map.
    you can find more info about image maps on w3schools.com

    the 2nd example is created in flash. I don't know flash so it is difficult for me to advice on this.

    I think it does what you which also comes with its own map editing software (you can download a free trial version from the website). Even if you don't know flash, the map software should be easy for you to use to change the text, links and colors. The popup box (or speech bubble box) can be switched on / off depending on your needs.

    I would suggest using this interactive flash map solution instead of HTML as it is easier for user to understand and offer more interactive functions.
