Hi all, I was experimenting with Windows Movie Maker and I got carried away and made this video for my website. It's my first attempt at any sort of viral marketing strategy, based on 2 assumptions: a) It must be funny, and this will cause people to spread it b) I estimate 2-3 out of every 10 people who view it will be curious enough to visit the website. What do you reckon? If you like it, please digg it Opinions welcome, but it's too late to pull it now...
Heh... "measuring thing" Nice for a first run - no huge production costs I'm sure, but that perfect for this sort of thing
Thanks - I would be lying if I said it was not fun to make! I also have most of Part Deauce down - I will wait a month or so to see what the response is before releasing it...
No offense but I got bored after about 10 seconds... I watched it all though (only to see if it got any better). It looks too "advert" filled as well just my opinion though.
No offense taken! Constructive critisim is always welcome. The idea is that it will have a long shelf-life and will slowly but steadily send visitors to my site, if only out of curiosity. Whether or not that is the case remains to be seen!
I think the movie is going to be too confusing for most youtube watchers. I'm not saying it's bad; I just think it's not the right type of comedy for youtube. I think your two assumptions are correct. You just need to experiment to see what works. If you can, use a hot chick as your main character. Then you're guaranteed a lot of views.
that's pretty funny. The funniest part was seeing the white string holding the guy's hat vibrating after it hits the chair. So funny. Next time you should use fishing line and not infront of a bright window!
Cool video but the concept is a bit flawed isnt it? "The Guys" internet goes down, how the hell is he meant to browse to a website to find offline tables? Forgive me if i've totally lost the plot.
Thanks for the feedback! I decided to leave the quirks in - eg. modem down, string and hat etc. just for fun.... Thats why there is an angelic light and "DaDa" sound
Thanks - Movie Maker is VERY easy to use - they have really made it simple and pushed it to the masses - and it comes with XP so it's free! Give it a bash - you get carried away quite easily
