Tryin to develop a regional Myspace style site

Can you give me some good ideas on how should i develop it?

Targetting keywords in polish (for example) is a clever method, to your opinion?
What should i target? the domain's name?
Should i choose banner advertisement or text link advertisement?
Would you suggest a press release?

Go for text links, Press release distribution (I prefer prweb.com)

Also go for offline advertisements if you are site is a social networking (target to particular region)
Do submit in local classifieds, go pasting good quality A4 sized posters at local bars and pubs.

Apart from these Concentrate on regular SEO strategies.
