Yes, but Google can revoke the priviledge to use Adsense without even giving a reason. The worst part to me is the overall mentality.

Heh...Deserves to get banned. That kind of defiant arrogance makes me chuckle. Does this webmaster think he's Superman? Does he think that they're afraid to cancel his account? Ha!

I think he should invest in a spell checker before writing some legal mumbo jumbo.

    Incentives !

If it is a true TOS statement, then we CANNOT place images next to or above adsesne ads, since such purposes is to draw attention to the adsense, which clearly violates googles rules !!!

The image coupling technique has already been cleared by G; "Critters" got email confirmation from them.

The images may draw attention, but as long as the images aren't incentivizing clicks in any way, then they do not violate the TOS.

If the image you place above your ad says, "click below," then you are obviously asking for trouble.

This is pretty clear cut, IMO.

Even "Click around the site to support the site" is an incentive in my opinion. I guess this guy is trying, but failing at getting a loop-hole around the TOS. Definitely deserves a ban.

    Can you say:

"Click around but please do not CLICK ON THE ADS to support this site"

worth testing :) see what it does to you CTR :)

If visitors are anything like kids telling them not to do something would probably improve CTR dramatically.

I thought of an online game once where you have Google ads in the middle of a flash game. There are dots of various sizes popping up every where and disappearing. The game is to put the mouse in your left hand and click the smallest dots possible. They all have points attached to them. The closer to the ads and the smaller the dot, the higher the score.

It didn't catch on... People found it too hard and kept clicking the ad. :)

I think it could be OK, as long as you don't place an image of a face that is winking and smiling next to that text, know what I mean, jelly bean?

    ;)

    As always, IMO.

Heh...interesting idea, but I don't think it's a good thing to build a game around the AS ads, IMO. Anyone could argue that it's simply not how AS should be implemented. Clicks should only come from visitors who have seen an ad(s) that interests them in some legitimate way.

So you think this new game (outlined below) is a bad idea?

This one is Flash and javascript based. Your cursor is packman and you have to click each step you want to take. But the routes are real narrow and the 'walls' of the paths are made up of AdSense ads. Mostly AdLinks since they're nice and narrow. During testing I got CTR of 70-80 percent. And since I named it Pac-Meso they paid out pretty well.

    What do you think?

I also thought of installing touch screens in a school for blind people. Then let them 'read ' articles on Credit Card Application written in the Braille font. I'd then plaster ads all over the place so they'd 'click' them en-mass.

    Not a good idea either?

Damn, it didn't say in the TOS you couldn't do that. Well, not in the first 2 lines, I didn't bother with the rest.

I might run an Adwords campaign with the title text being "Don't Click Here" to see if we can use reverse physcology when they get bored of playing that daft game you're making.

Well Google is smarter than that. You can't have creatives that have the word 'click' in it. :D They won't pass the guideline checks (as I found out last week).

Was that before or after they banned you :D, I'm just waiting for red to start flying in this thread, you just know at least one person is going to take it seriously, but only reading the first 3 lines is just lazy and you deserve that Google wrist slap :)
