I have a blog that gets about 1500 uniques per day, and I am constantly trying new things to improve the site's monetization (i.e., make money!) Typically the most responsive approach is some sort of zip code submit campaign where I get paid on a per lead basis. This morning I tried something new just for grins and set up a banner ad featuring one of my own "make money" products. But instead of using a boring ebook cover as the image, I used a funny picture of me fishing and added some text about making money while having lots of fun. Now the day is still young, but so far I've had lots more clicks than I normally would have from the site at this point. It's actually kind of fun to keep checking my stats! So my tip is this: try something silly and eye catching when you create your next ad (maybe use an actual photo like I did). Granted, it's nothing earth-shattering but worth a try. I'll post back in a day or two with my results.
Cool thought, thanks for sharing. I guess and eye-catching photo would make me click more often than a boring picture of an ebook. Hope it works out for you.
Finally, a creative thread, with some intelligence behind it. You don't see that many here on this board. Thank you. P.S., can we see it?
Good idea! I've also tried things like this before and an unusual ad can make a big difference to the CTR
Well, it's kind of obvious isn't it? Doing an unconvential ad will result in more clicks, however, it won't necessarily result in more conversions (it's possible ofcourse), depends on the public & niche.
Great idea! With that picture you are actually promoting, very cleverly, one of the psychological benefits people want from a make money online product - freedom to do what you enjoy.
Thanks for sharing this - it's come at a very opportune moment. I'm just putting my blog together and this is a great idea to brighten the thing up. Steve.
Great idea...thinking outside the box. I think that's what gets people to pay attention. We are so used to seeing the same ol' stuff, when you mix it up...people notice. Joel
Very good tip, I found a blog today that actually uses a similar technique and it really caught my eye! Refreshing to see something different
Wow this is a great idea. I'm definitely gonna try this one out! I'm definitely looking forward to seeing about how it works out for you!
