Trust, once it's gone is there any chance of ever getting it back? One time I was hurt and I wanted to hurt someone back so I said something to someone I should not have, as soon as I said it I regretted it greatly. The person who had given me this info confided in me a lot, I was not thinking, painful emotions took over, I just wanted to punch this person so I said something to hurt them and in turn I ended up hurting someone else instead. I greatly regret this, now this friend does not trust me. I understand why he doesn't, I did not intend to betray his confidence, i was simply so hurt at something he did to me with someone else that I said something to the other person to hurt the other person. Does not make it right, I learned my lesson, too bad I ended up hurting someone I care about in the process and lost their trust.
