    Well, I trust maldives.

Anyway, don't take it the wrong way. I think it can be a good rule, because believing in the same religion would unite the couple.

As kafir, it's rewarding to educate muslims about their faith. See Surah 2:221. Also see sharia law, the islamic law that serves to oppress women.

You could also ask the imam, or read fatwa rulings on such:

    http://www.islamonline.org/livefatwa/english/Browse.asp?hGuestID=diSC9O
    (third to last entry)

Also see, 5:51. Not directly related to marriage, the message none-the-less would prevent such.

I invite you to consider leaving islam. I understand death is the penalty, as we are seeing today, but there are people who can help you.

First of all...I don't give a damn about Sharia law, or whatsoever law created by sunna or shiite or whatsoever it is as I am not a member of any of the clans.

    regarding,
It says "idolatresses"... (I hope you understand what it means by that ) ... not Christian or Jews or anything as these invite you to "hell" ("hell" not to be taken literally...) which I think it is proven to be true..I have seen how arrogance people who are disbeliever can be and how their marriage never last long when they marry a "believer"...
I guess you don't bother to read my explanation earlier...and I guess you never did..Its not "friends" but "allies"....

no, thanks...I am not planning to give away my "belief" in god and ohya..I am not scare of death as I believe when the time has come..I will go...

The point being that it is a decision which should be made by those two individuals and no one else.

Neither the religion nor the state should be able to murder the individuals because of their choice of partner.

By the way, I am your friendly neighborhood athiest.

LOL..Happy to hear that!! So Will, you don't believe in god at all? Anyway, what is your understanding of god in the first place...
For me..god isn't an object...god isn't anything that we can describe..we are all part of god..we are the "god" itself...we are the "one" but not the "absolute one"....well, there is no way I can explain that in an accurate way....LOL...

Not a one. Neither Xenu nor YAHWEH nor Zeus.

I believe in math and science. My prophets are great men like Mill, Nietzsche, Locke, Smith, Jefferson, and Friedman.

I have no need for a god in my life.

"I believe in math and science." ... This will automatically bring you to god.. :)

Anyway just to make things clear as I believe some of you will get confused with my "stand" on "god"...My "god" isn't to be "worshipped"..and there is nothing to be worshipped....My "god" is "everything" but not "something"

Well, the answer is, God is spirit. But not a violent one.
He looks at us like children, constantly guiding us into eternal truth.

Right, as I recall, you are kafir and trying to rewrite the meanings of islam. If you are so ashamed of your religion to necessitate rewriting what it means, maybe it is worth considering converting? Think about it...you pretend to not have knowledge of something so you ask. (The setup!) Then you are educated. Then you proceed to say it doesn't mean what it says. Deception? What's that word used to describe such...ah, al taqiyya.

I understand what it means. I also understand what is practised. I also understand when religious leaders use the very scripture to point out that women cannot marry non-muslim men. I also understand islam=submission when you tried to pull the wool over people's eyes. Your efforts to rewrite the meanings of things continue to fail. Most likely this is why your peers consider you kafir.

There's an old saying: Don't pee on my head and tell me it's raining.

With 72 virgins, who would be afraid of death? Too bad they don't exist! Are you saying your God is not the same God of the Christians and Jews? Do I smell quandry brewing so early on a Monday morning?

define "overwrite"....Well, I guess "allies" is one of the meaning of the word if you bother to do some research...

talking about "god"...for me there is only one god....there can't be 2 or 3...and there is no such thing as Christian god or Islam god or Jews 's god...

True, my God is not about violence either. And he doesn't have prophets who marry 6 year old girl.

I don't think poll is the right way , because this matter is not black and white,
just being a Muslim does not make you an evil person, there are millions of Muslim around the world ,how many of these people really are true Muslims, and how many of these people really know what is in their holy book, never mind those Muslims that don’t speak Arabic, and Quran is not widely available in other languages .

those who are strictly follow the rule of Islam are to be watched for, and if only some get power, more than half the population on earth are gone.
No matter what, other than Muslims are non believer and has to be killed, period,
Muslims around the world they really don’t know their book properly, even educated people ignore to read books on Islam, never mind books that has been written on this or past century, even hindered years after Islam many books has been written about Islam, you as a Muslim has to be open-minded and read these books, well I believe when it comes to religion , all other religions has almost the same thing in it.
You all have to know what Christianity did when they had power all over the Europe, Bible is book of Christian that you can find lots of word “love” in it, with that kind of book in hand, they did so in Europe, now imagine what Muslims do if the get that much power, when in their book there is no word of “love” what so ever, you find if not thousands, hundreds word of “kill” ,
They say Islam is about peace, equality, what equality, when girls in Afghanistan did not had right to go to school, in Taliban time, is that equality? That was the true Islam ( Sunni version) you want to see the live Shiite version, go to Iran, they are doing almost same thing, women in Saudi Arabia don’t have the right to drive,
Woman can not be counted as one witness when needed ( two women count as one), there are hundreds of these kind of equality talk.
If you are interested to read more, about Islam this site is a good source, make sure take a look at the picture library as well,( faithfreedom dot org)
no the site is not mine,
    That was my 2 cents.
    peace
