If you're talking whether my place is safe, The place I am living in, it is one of the safest place in the world for non-muslim, no terrorism, low crime rates (but not road accidents) and mostly moderate type of muslim...But, if you're a "muslim" and if they caught you talking about the things I just told you in "public" or trying to share it with other "traditional muslim"...You can expect them to come and "fetch" you to their place for spreading "deviant teaching" and make sure you have a good lawyer if they can't convince you to go back to the "traditional belief"..Though it rarely happen, you can expect yourself to be in the news headline if you're caught doing so...But so far, we don't really get into that much of trouble as they will have more problem answering our questions than questioning us.. We made an open challenge years back, challenging anyone who considered themselves sunni, shiite (shiite or others are not allowed here..Muslim here are 98% sunni) etc to have an open debate based on Quran with us..but nobody came, yet they said its dangerous to have a debate with us... Overall, you have a lot of freedom here unless you're a muslim...The law doesn't even allowed you to marry a non-muslim..how lame..But, I just don't care..The one I love is non-muslim...I won't force her to convert because of the stupid law...If she does, it will be easier for both of us (Anyway, it is all about what your religion is in your Identity Card)..but if she don't..Who cares about them, they don't allowed us to get married here...We will go somewhere else... So, you can guess where I Am from...
Hahaha! I'm planning on visiting Kuala Lumpur in a few months. dlcmh is from KL also. If you're a guy, we can go out for a beer. If you're a girl, I don't want to get my head chopped off.
LOL..I am a guy..but I don't drink beer...Its bad for meditation....I am a spritual type of person..LOL...I don't even smoke dude!
Drinking is like meditation for the Irish. It's amazing how close you are to God when you're praying for the hangover to go away.
LOL...Meditation, listening to a certain type of trance music...it makes your soul gravitate..you should try it man....You feel like reaching the sky...a feeling that you can't tell...
A law that makes it illegal to marry a person of another religion is no different than a law that makes it illegal to marry a person of another race. It's wrong. What I find ironic is that while it has never been illegal to marry a person of another religion in the US, there was a time when "mixed marriages" as they called them were quite frowned upon. For instance, a Catholic marring a non-Catholic. It was not illegal, but frowned upon, because many believed a marriage by people of different faiths could not work. This was the case for my parents. My mom Catholic, and dad Lutheran. Thing is, the Lutheran minister would not marry them, mixed marriage. The Catholic Priest did, under the condition that my dad vowed to raise his children Catholic. Compromise I guess. Anyway, that "mixed marriage" worked, has worked, and is over 37 years now. Any country that makes it illegal to marry a person of a different religion is IMO, barbaric and sick. Sometimes it amazes me the things we've accomplished as a people in the US in such a short time, that other nations still have not over 1000's of years. The fact that we are a huge melting pot of every race, religion, creed, and sexual orientation plays into that greatly. It's amazing what freedom can do.
Well.. if a moslem should merry a non-moslem then the non-moslem must convert to islam. A moslem on another forum, skyscrapercity, said that.
You are wrong, I think a muslim man can marry a chrisitian or jewish lady without having to chnage the religion but, a muslim women can not marry a non muslim man without converting to Muslim.
