There's no way I would reject any salvation for my family... As soon as someone presents a coherent case for organized religion, I'll start throwing my $1 bills into the little wicker basket at church instead of to the hard-working strippers on the weeknights...

I was trying to get you to answer a question with the initial question and you were avoiding the question. The concept you were trying to avoid was mommy dieing or lots of other people dieing so don't be so contrived, dishonest, obvious, lacking integrity and whatever else you are projecting onto me. You appear to be too young for this type of discussion since your panties get to bunched up too easily. Relax this is just a webmaster forum. :D

    I sure do.

The thing all of you are intentionally missing in an effort to make some hypothetical point is that I said that He said not to.

wow, I knew I shouldn't have left this thread alone.

The irony here for you "believers" is that you missed the opportunity I gave you.

You see in order for you to kill your kid because God said so, he'd have to say so.... Hence proving his existence...

I personally still wouldn't kill my child. But then I don't know the love of God like you do. Maybe it's stronger than what I feel for my kids. I highly doubt that, but not having a relationship with God immediately disqualifies me from being able to say his love isn't more powerful.

But I digress, my little experiment failed. It sparked a whole other conversation. This question isn't about you being a wacko religious nut for being willing to kill your kid if God told you so but apparently everyone on this thread tried to make it about that. Fact is at that point you would have been proven right and everyone else would be the nut job.... I say again this was a test of your devotion to God. And if you didn't answer yes, yet call yourself a christian, then maybe you're not as devoted as you think...

I answered your initial question, I just didn't answer it how you would have liked. Which lead you on to add even more parameters to your initial question in order to make it more contrived. See, Your question is dishonest because it is intended to make me say a certain thing, i.e that i would kill a member of my family. So when i gave you an answer using logic (logically you'd have more chance surviving a train going off a bridge) you changed the question in order to make me give the answer you wanted.

That is why you are dishonest and lack integrity, because your new question only gave two possible answers, Both of which involved a family member dying.

but seriously, It's no surprise. We all know what kind of people the religious are and we know how dishonest they are, You have simply proven it.

Cute that you say 'nut cases'. Oh, the irony ;)

Bottom line is, i find it quite disgusting to be willing to murder your child because of your cult.
How many cases were there for people who murdered others because 'god' told them to ? Quite a few.
tbarr, you should tell your kids about your strong devotion to god. You should sit with all of them, and tell them that if 'god' appears before you and tells you to murder them, you will do it. Just so that they would be prepared for your psychotic delusions if ever the situation occurs.

Hmmm....not sure what direction these comments are pointing. However, you did make one comment about "the love of God". What these atheists do not know/believe is that no matter what happens to us or what we do "if" God asked us to do, anything that is done can be undone by HIM. A good example of this is Job. His entire family, assets and happiness were stripped from him and God gave him back more than he ever had in the first place. But that's not all, he promises all of his family that died will be resurrected in the near future, as well as Job himself. Peter took off a guard's ear when Jesus was arrested. Jesus healed him straight away. If Peter had killed the guard Jesus would have resurrected him. This highlights God's power. That's why this point is moot.

So basically you'd murder your child if god asked you to, because you assume he would resurrect him. That's great.

IMO You would have to be sick in the head to kill your child for god.

My child is much more important than any god
