True Believer? Would you kill your child for God?

Would you kill your child if God spoke to you and directed you to?

It's a simple question. Try not to attack the question just because you don't have an answer.

    Be honest.

No, but it's a good excuse after the fact.

i guess god will do it himself why tell some one else to kill the child, if god is so powerful why do he need to guide up.

Nope, not even if God him/her self threated my soul to internal damnation, I would however, start quickly following another God though.

Now if I were insane..that might be a different story

if god told anyone to kill their own child i would suspect a severe case of schizophrenia and alert social services and the police.
i think that the only reason there are so many reported cases of god speaking to people in the bible is because back then schizophrenia hadn't been diagnnosed.

The interesting thing is the God gave up his only son, so that we may live. He did not ask us to kill our sons, but gave his.

I would be relieved someone finally gave me permission, plus it would be a great defense in court.

He's God... you don't get to ask him why just like you don't get to ask him why he does anything else.

    So answer the question :)

I suppose that you are referring about the Christian God, right? You remember that God also resurrected Jesus three days after his death. I don't think that a person that murders their child has the power to do that. It's an unfair example.

    Nowadays??

Is that what we're doing to rationalize God's absence now? He just doesn't get down like that anymore?

haha....interesting question, as an atheist I'd say that believers would say you are an evil and kill you. Then it would be a good movement, in the end you are an evil, right? :)

The Watchtower (Jehovah's Witnesses) directs their membership to not take blood as part of conventional medical treatment and parents apply it to their children resulting in death. The Watchtower then holds up the children and their parents as good examples.

Sites such as www.ajwrb.org cover it in detail.
