Trouble with mybb

High guys. I've been working on installing mybb for the past 4 hours and cannot get it to run the installer. I'm hosting the files at 50webs.com. I've done everything the installation tutorial asks u to do yet whenever i try to run the installer "http://example.50webs.com/install" it directs me to a page that shows the contents of the install folder but no installation runs. I've edited all my file permissions it says to and changed the .php script for mysql 4.0....even tried not changing it....same effect. Any ideas?

The problem (from what it sounds like) is most likely your host. Most people use MySQL 5 now, for example.

If you want free hosting, why not try http://webhostingfox.com/?

    Try running Yoursite.com/install/install.php directly!

I actually just bought 7 months of hosting through 50webs. I used to use them for simple sites because i loved how simple and easy to use there layout was...until this snag....I'll check out webhostingfox...right now i'd be happy if i could just upload the files to a server and get the install to run just so i know i'd done it right on the previous server...

you know i'm kicking myself right now because i didn't think to look i just assumed the supported php. That may be the issue here...and the CHmod for the files are setup exactly as the tutorial at mybb says to set them up.

Alright idk what it was...i did absolutely nothing from my last post up until now. But now whenever i go to my installation folder everything is working just fine....installation starts up and runs normally....maybe being a new account it took 24hours or so for them to give me access to php and mysql? Clueless....but hey at least its running now lol

Good to see your issues fixed. I think it was CHMOD issue by your host which they fixed eventually.
