I have been trying to renew one of my domains which expires in a day for a couple of weeks now. Whenever I remember it and I got a couple of spare minutes I renew it and a few minutes later I get a message in email saying it FAILED with no further explanation. Anyway I was wondering how easy is it to transfer an almost expired domain to some other place like godaddy and is it SAFE a day before expiration? I already lost one domain because of this failure and don't want to make it a habit losing them so are there any tricks that work super quick? Besides godaddy who gives good deals on domain transfers and renewalls or is godaddy the best alternate?
I am having the same problem with registerfly. I am EXTREMELY disappointed in their service. I already paid for the renewal (took me about two weeks) and if you check the WHOIS of my domain you can see that it will expire in 2007, but I'm getting emails on a daily basis saying that my domain was about to expire.
Oh great so that means I will NEVER be able to renew it in the next 24 hours. How easy is it to transfer to godaddy or one of the other folks?
Unlock the domain and make sure you have your own email in whois then go to namecheap.com then transfer the domain you will get a email within 1-2 days on the email you inerted in whois so you can accept transfer or deny once you accpeted it will take 2-3 days and the domain will be in your namecheap control panel Saad
My domain has whois privacy added. Maybe that complicates things. Is it dangerous to have your domain "masked" with the information of registerfly?
I got a stupid message in email saying they could not renew my domain because of lack of funds. But I had more than $60 in my account at the time!!!
