Trouble monetizing site

    Hi all,

I have a bit of a problem monetizing my site. It's been kicked out of Adsense as apparently it is content they don't approve from.

The site is www.ratemypoo.eu - obviously it does what it says on the tin.

It is getting 1200 - 1500 unique visitors a day so there is massive potential to monetize. My problem is that I don't really want to put adult ads up there. I have tried various ad networks with no real benefit like the one Adsense was giving me.

I am part of commission junction but that is doing nothing for me.

Any advice on how I could get better monetization from the site would be greatly appreciated.

Try games stuff, maybe World of Warcraft, Poker, or maybe something in the "phow to pick up chicks" niche. Where is your traffic comming from if I may ask?

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Where can I get the gaming ads from? From CJ or are there dedicated ad networks out there?

In terms of traffic, it is all organic from Google. Mainly from the UK and US. UK has the majority share though.

    Thanks.

Click Bank are amazing digital product vendors you shuld sign up for an account with them and see what kind of game affiliate products there are there, also if you feel you know about a product that may be good then type in the product name and the affiliate program, for example: world of war craft affiliate program, also one of the best websites to find affiliate products from is http://www.offervault.com/ and a click bank specific is http://cbengine.com/ you sshould find alot of things on here...

Quick TIP: try to find membership sites like http://pogo.com where people pay monthly and see if they have an affiliate program that pays recuring commisions as this means that you will get paid monthly off every person that joins up from your website, this means that lets say in one year an advertising banners gets you 1000 sign ups 750 still remain and the commission is 50% which is $5 and im aiming quite low on figures but 750 people on monthly comission at $5 is $3750 a month just from those people alone and commissions for some websites is around $30 MONTH!! quite simply a powerfull option seen it takes the same effort to get them to a one of commission website as it does to ones that pay monthly...

    Hope This Helps Regards Jamie

fraggy, your traffic geo is good so you might want to try some softer based adult ads (dating/cams type niches so non-hardcore type content). Another option is selling the ad space yourself (as mentioned U.S/UK traffic are amongst the best countries so this will help you with prospective advertisers). Another option is to be a publisher for one of the adult ad networks (such as juicyads who are very good) however this will of course mean that you are showing creatives with content that you wish to avoid.

    Hi all,

thanks a lot for your suggestions. I will need to take a good look at these ad networks and see which ones will work best for me. I have tried affiliates before that haven't worked. I guess it's just trying to find one that my visitors are interested in. Accoriding to my stats its 18 - 30 year old males (no surprise there! ;))

In terms of direct selling adverting I find it pretty hard to get my foot in the door of these places as you can imagine as soon as they see the name they run!

adult based ads are going to be your best bet for a site like that.
