Hi Gang Seems to me Google is still out to lunch. I had a huge directory site and before the last update i had showing about 200,000 indexed pages. Well after the update it dropped to about 10,000. Now after about a month or less it is showing 101,000 pages indexed but when i quickly go through them i end at about 1000. Does anyone have any idea or experiencing the same problem. Would love to hear your comments. Kevin
forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=124441 Same problem , that happens whenever action taken after done at the robotx or the keyword the sites renew them selves, did you do something like that.
I never changed the keywords or renewed anything on the site. The only thing i do which i have been doing for months is approve 300 links a day. Lol
There are many sites having the same issues and I have one thats doing the same it has dropped from page one to rock bottom of the Google index. Many people havent made changes so everyone is pointing the blame at Google. Googleguy made a comment that it should be fixed by autumn so all we can do is make sure everything is in order with our sites and sit and wait (I think).
Did me mention which year? Autumn occurs often I have a hard time believing, if they know the problem, that it'd take so long to work out. Other forums, people see the same thing. Thankfully, my main sites have not been affected; but I sure do check every morning to make sure.
haha whats the bets its 2007? Doh! Someone actually asked question of when the next PR/BL update would happen and he stated it wasnt a prority so they know there is a problem but are they stuck in finding a solution for this one? Back to the drawing board Google. One of my other sites is doing better than ever but like you I check it ever day.
This thread is one reason I ignore King Goo. I'm only very slowly starting to use Adsense, and hoping to someday talk about how much I respect Google.
Well Im looking everyday also. Just hope to see the big change. Would be nice to see the pages all reindexed. "Patients" To bad google does not know what this means. LoL
Yikes, this thread is a mess. Google has always just displayed the top thousand, that is by design and isn't a new thing. Um, how is a thread talking about pr appearing and dissapearing - and also appearing, then dissapearing, from the serps - the same 'problem' as exymoneyathome was talking about? Actually, I think this is a third issue. One I am experiencing myself. I also wonder when "autumn' actually is, and why wait to fix it if it's a known issue. Google isn't just hurting us, they're also hurting themselves by not delivering good results. Hunh? I'm with google on this one. I don't know what that last quote means either.
My site has seen some strange things in the past few months. I've noticed fluctuations on the site: command over and over. At first about 75% of my site was listed as supplemental but now those pages aren't even listed with the site: command. Different datacenters have different results. What I've learned is to not be too freaked out and look at the traffic to my site - while these supplementals are gone I've only lost about 20% of my web traffic. Looking at the google dance tool at mcdar.net I see that although I'm seeing one crappy result on the datacenter I get from google.com I'm still doing ok on other servers.
I am guessing October on that one. They simply havent fixed it because they dont know how or they are probably at least testing. Something has messed up big time on their part and the worst about it is they have been keeping very quiet on the issue offering little help or explanation. I dont think Google is hurting themselves as the end users and stock holders are not aware of what actually is going on so they can happily get on with it.
Maybe you should stop looking at it everyday.Try it one or twice a week. Well this happens to everybody before. Not just this year. In weekly or monthly report you will determine how your site is performing. Dont waste your time looking at your indexed pages everyday or every hour.. instead do some of your SEO stuff. Just my 2 cents!
gotta agree with Bondat dont waste time looking at ur indexed pages everyday, look at it once a month even and keep any report for your comparison, this way ur more likely to notice a change if any!!!
i had problems with google arlier in the year but now i have no de-index problem , mybe by this time next year they will sort everything out.
I agree check once a month. Google is tweaking its algorithm continuously, to eliminate or add links to your site.
