Trophy Points

Previously I believed that I was clear as to how these points are metted out. However after perusing a few comments here and there, I now feel somewhat unclear about it. I *was* under the impression that it all had to do with number of posts and to what forums they were posted on.(some forums give you more points than others)
I now understand that there might be more to it. I hope someone can offer me a definitive explanation as to how these points are earned-thanks.
(If this explanation has been given on another thread, then I've missed it)

Hand of Justice
"You were the first to report 100 different items that had action taken."

 

@indyonline, I knew that there was an award system involved, but I *also* thought it had to do with postcount as well. Guess I was wrong on that.

 

Ya, if there was trophy or benefit from it people would be posting a bunch crap (more than usual) to run up their post counts.

 

They don't seem to be given out automatically as I should have received for another "best answer". So what's the timeframe on points? Once a month or something?

 

I guess there is some for 1st post, 30 post, 100 post, 1000 post and 5000.
Guess I was wrong... =/ lol
Didn't think there would be but I guess since it don't grant them any extra features there would be no real reason to run 'em up.

 

Obviously I'm confused.(nothing new here)But...when we started the migration I had 2 "best answers". Then I received a 3rd a week later but no new points........?

It shows you have it.

 

I started off with 75 points and even after my 3rd "best answer" it remained at 75.

 

Because you already had 2 and should have calculated when he switched over or an hour after your first login or something

 

Sorry but I was under the impression that we got 10 points for *each* "best answer".

i still did not understood what are trophy points .Can anyone explain?

 

You get trophy points for different things, for example: If you report violators(rule breakers) and were the first to do a set number of times, you would then receive trophy points. If you get a set number of likes or best answers etc., again you would receive trophy points. And there are more other points for different things.
Simply go to *Help* and click on "trophy points" and it's all explained there for you.
