Tripled the ad revenue using competitive ad filtering

Hi, perhaps most of you already know but i wanted to
share my experience with competitive ad filtering.

In one of my websites, i had some strange ring of websites
appearing almost in all of the ad sections. The ads belonged to
a ring of websites with names such as domain43.info, domain44.info, domain45.info, etc.

When i checked those sites with adsense preview tool, they were
all cell phone related spam pages.

I was getting as low as $0.01 for any click. Then i used competitive
ad filtering to ban all those ads and it made a huge difference.
That tripled my daily adsense revenue starting from the nex day.

So if you're getting unusually lower rates for your clicks, try to see who is advertising on your site and ban them when necessary.

Too bad, sometimes the list gets too long and you only have 200 urls to add to it. Try to contact adsense and request for removal from adwords placement targeting.

I usually dont face totally offtrack ads, but low CTR sometimes. And I believe CTR depends on lots of things. Ad filtering is a good idea. But its a advanced level work.

If you trippled your earnings, instead of 0.01c per click were you getting 0.03c per click? :)

    Just kidding, nice work.

I'm in a pretty small niche, and I've had to add quite a few irrelevant ads to my competitive ad filter, but now I'm worried that there's almost nothing left for Google to serve to my site!

I've never had a problem with rings of spam/scam sites though; thanks for the info.

Good luck with your new earnings.

dont overlook it as they are just cents. if you get thousands of visitors those cents gonna pile up and give you handsome money. so if you get 50K visitors a day you surely earn 100$ a day easily with 1c a click so tripling it make 300$ and thats a huge money.

So cents doesnt matter , Progress does. he increased it 3 times hehe:)

It's a video site that serves mostly youtube videos and you get lots of clicks everyday but the downside is they pay you an average of 0.05-0.8 for any click. So it takes quite a while to gather a $100 :)

On my blog, however, i get half a dollar for a click.
