    Guys
    I need some expert opinion.

    I have forwarded my domain www.abc.com to my www.abc.com/home

    Now in terms of SEO, does it matter if I do backlinks, submissions etc for abc.com or abc.com/home

    Does my ranking and effectiveness get affected?

    The reason being, the SEO person I hired did all seo for abc.com and not abc.com/home?

    Does it make a difference?

    So long as you create a permanent 301 redirect fro abc.com to abc.com/home - you should have no problem
    To do this create an index.php file and add to abc.com (make sure you remove or rename any index.html file)
    Add this, and only this, text to your new index.php file:
    <?
    Header( "HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently" );
    Header( "Location: http://abc.com/home" );
    ?>

    If you find this info helpful - clicking to give me a DP thank you will be appreciated

    what i did was
    My host is Bluehost
    I went to domain manager, redirected abc.com to abc.com/home

    Does that cover all index file issues or i need to do it manually

    Permanent redirect is the best thing you can do. However, some link juice may be lost

    So whats the conclusion...

    Am I in trouble and all my seo is down to waste?

    Does doin "bluehost permanent link redirect" is the right method or i need to modify index file?

    designventures,

    Visit the following header checking tool and enter your URL abc.com and run the tool.

    If the response looks like this then you are fine:

    #1 Server Response: http://abc.com/
    HTTP Status Code: HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently

    Code (markup):
    As for your link development. The links you have created will still count so don't worry about it. For future promotion though you should focus on the new URL.
