I get awesome leads by advertising on unrelated keywords. The clicks I do get convert like crazy. Problem is, Google doesn't like me doing it. My quality scores are getting so low I'm not appearing for most of these terms anymore. Most of them are generic terms for my city - "<city> events", "<city> news", etc. I know nothing can substitute for a good CTR, but that's not my primary problem. Google's giving me a poor quality score for terms that have only 1-5 impressions - even though one of the two words in the keyword (the city name) is well optimized for on my landing page. I'm fully willing to take a bit of a penalty on this campaign for the lower click-through rate because the leads are worth it. But at the very least I need my ads to show up. So here are my questions: #1) Could the bad CTRs on the high impression terms be affecting the terms in the adgroup that only have 1-5 impressions? Would splitting up my keywords into multiple campaigns or ad groups help? #2) Has anybody found ways to run these types of campaigns? Is there anything I can do to keep my quality scores high enough to appear?
