It brings in an amazing amount of traffic actually. I have several other links too that bring in great traffic. Seems that I've been lucky with the links.
Thanks. I've been working hard to build those links. Some have come naturally, others I have managed to solicit.
I looked into this and don't understand how any search engine spider would find the back links to my sites placed in my profile, since you must be logged in to view that page. To illustrate, go ahead and set up a profile at the suggested site, then display the profile (yes, the back links appear). But if you use another browser where you are not logged in (i.e., switch from Firefox to IE) and try to display the url of your profile, it will not display the profile with back links since it requires you to be logged in. Obviously, this would be a big problem for spiders.
You can set an option to access authenticated sites for indexing inside of webmaster tools i believe.
The best "trick" to get high PR backlinks is to develop a high quality site. Plain and simple. If you make a worthwhile site, promote it a little bit through blogs, forums, ect... eventually you will start getting quality backlinks without having to "work" for them. Quality is, and always will be, the best promotional tool available.
That's a good start. However, website owners will always have to work a little bit for backlinks. Case in point: Have you taken a look at the first site linked in user Cbrooker's signature file? Trust me; this site is not hurting for quality. It's a superbly high quality, informative website that has information that many "desperate" people are looking for. Yet, Cbrooker has worked hard for many of his links. He's got .gov links and a miriad of other great links, but they didn't just find their way to him. He sought them out. He's got a great site, and with some work on his part, he's got great backlinks.
Here we go again. Read his question closely Angela. He asked if you had links on PR 6+ pages ... not websites. Lets not rehash this argument again.
Hey, Dodger...how are you? Let's just say it like this: I have Do Follow backlinks on Authority Sites. THAT can't be argued.
Try to cheat the pagerank can get you banned from adsense. Just a little advice for save your adsense account! A++
This isn't about cheating "pagerank" while I don't know how that's possible. LOL! It's about obtaining quality links from relevant sites. Link building has to be strategic, planned and very systematic.
I think Dodger's point is that it's a little misleading.. You have backlinks on authority sites, but not on pages that actually have any authority.
This is the viewpoint of some, yes. However, I firmly believe what I always have; that you will get credit for your link on the Authority Site. No sense continuing to debate it.
