NZ won the toss in first match and they are gonna bat first. :)
I hope India will bowl well as Ashish Nehra comes back in team.

Pravinkumar returns in the side with a bang! He claims the first victim in the form of Guptill.
New Zealand are 16/1 after 3 overs.

The old horses have helped New Zealand gain advantage. Both Taylor and Styris are scoring at will... having already scored 155 runs together off just 163 balls. New Zealand are 183/3 after 34 overs. :(

An interesting trivia on today's ODI match:

New Zealand innings is wrapped up in 48.5 overs at 288 runs.... India needs to chase down 289 runs in 50 overs to win this match! :)

    The worst batting performance!

Al the batsmen appeared at sea against swing bowling and just appeared giving catching practice in the slips! :(

Hopefully, the Indians have got their wake up wall.... and will win all from here! :)

In hindsight... it does appear Dhoni did not assess the swing factor well. The early breakthroughs by Pravinkumar and Nehra gave ample signs that there was swing and there was no need to persist with spinners like Yuvraj, Sehwag and Jadeja! :(
India just did not have quality medium pacers to take advantage of the swing factor! :(

Indian batsmen probably got done in due to the two pace nature of the pitch as they were just not prepared for it. Be assured... that this long gap for the next match will be utilized to practice for it and they will come back roaring! :)

For the second match of this series, New Zealand have won the toss and elected to bat against Sri Lanka. It looks like New Zealand having won the toss and batting first.... is destined to win this match as well!

Yes... They did exceedingly well by bowling to a plan and restricting New Zealand to just 192 runs... making the run chase, a whole lot easier for their batsmen! :)
