Instead of posting my particular ideas I'd like for this to become a discussion for energy saving ideas in terms of the home media server. I am right around the corner to producing something similar to the HP MediaSmart, but I feel I need some opinions so I can come up with a significantly different build. Recent considerations have been: ARM architecture Solid State drives No moving parts Opt-out of OS Virtual OS over IP I am partial to a green construction of the case as well(recycled composites) , and if you have any ideas for production, manufacturing processes, or anything to benefit the life cycle please include it. It would be nice to have a list of these ideas and components for anyone(especially me) to DIY the eco-home media server. Thanks, hopefully this will be successful
