I've been searching around for this type of travel script, and Ive been finding numberous comparison sites, hotel booking forms, just everything other than I want. Im looking to make a site focussing on a small part of the country, a small "shire". In this, I'd like to make known: - different bars, clubs, entertainment, shopping, sight-seeing, hotels, etc. - the above information should be able to be submitted, so a form of merchant area. - Ratings, Reviews, Comments, etc. If we take a large global example and focus in on what we're looking at, something like: http://www.lonelyplanet.com/england/london There are better examples, but I can't remember those. Here, we have information, clubs, bars, etc. We also get ratings, reviews, overviews, google-map (but changed to suit them - not sure how at the moment) Lonely Planet is good, but I dont feel it's interactive enough. If theres any out there, or any addons ... I dont know, wordpress witht travel / leisure? Cheers
Hi Joe I've never seen antyhing like this. At least not worth looking into. There are simple ones like phpmydirectory but this definitely doesn't engage enough...
Hey GA (nice name). I've seen a few websites like this - A kinda of, directory which you can comment on and review. It's jsut a site that will advertise facilities in my county, and make some money from advertising, as we have a few events up here. I've seen one hotel based script (which I've since lost). The demo was "My Desination". Very interactive too. I'm just wondering what else I could use. Such as Wordpress - Seperate the bars/clubs/hotels etc into catagories. I would then only need a way or plugins to support sort-by-rating, rate with stars, comments & reviews (already active in WP) - I have it all in my head, honest! I havnt actually made a website for a few years. I usually design and sell that on.
Yea eDirectory is very sweet but definitely ridiculously priced. I know what you mean but I have not seen anything like this out of the box.
