Travel Forum - Good DEEP links!

Discussion in 'Sites' started by JeffC, Mar 12, 2007.

    Site: www.itravelforum.com

I have had some car problems lately and figured I would let this one go to cover some of the repairs.

The forum is running TOPS3O's ICo Content software
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=228744
I have let this run for several weeks generating posts and content.

The site has some VERY good and deep links from some travel websites.

    Yahoo: 11,472
    https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.c...rum&bwm=i&bwms=p&bwmf=u&fr=moz2&fr2=seo-rd-se

    MSN 3,903
    http://search.live.com/results.aspx...com/forum&sourceid=Mozilla-search&form=CHROME

As far as indexed pages go:
    Google:1,410
    http://www.google.com/search?q=site...s=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

    Yahoo: 594
    https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.c...lforum.com&bwm=p&bwms=p&fr=moz2&fr2=seo-rd-se

    MSN: 672
    http://search.live.com/results.aspx?q=site:www.itravelforum.com&sourceid=Mozilla-search&form=CHROME

I really was not planning on selling this site, as I worked hard getting the links that it has. But could use the money a bit more than the site at the moment.
I was planning on adding a lot of other content to the site from databases I have. I will be including a copy of all of my databases with this sale
    (http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=2175358&postcount=61)

I have not monetized this site in anyway, I was not trying to make money from it yet. Just trying to get it well indexed with good content and links. So I have no revenue stats.

The site receives 15-30 unique a day all from search engine traffic as I have not done any promoting otherwise for the site.

Please ask any questions you might have, if I forgot to mention anything just ask :)

    Lets start bidding at $150
I will post BIN as bidding gets going.

    Thanks!

Does it come with the vbulletin license and TOPS3O's ICo Content software?
How many human posts are there?

I am interested, but I am wondering how many posts are real (vs. you made them with several accounts, paid posting ...)? I mean with that traffic you shouldn't even have close to 1000 posts? Also whats the ICo part of the site? I see the vbulletin forum, but I don't know what ICo is.

I was wondering the same, because most of the threads don't have any useful information. Just online posts.

I noticed you have taken the Yahoo Answers credit out of the posts. Are you not worried about losing your Yahoo API?

    I will repeat the question:
I noticed you have taken the Yahoo Answers credit out of the posts. Are you not worried about losing your Yahoo API?

Also I see that all most all of your links are from the "go-(state?) network. What is your relationship to them?

    Sorry I missed the question...

Yes I took it out, a guess its a risk I was willing to take? If you buy the site feel free to put it back in.

I was able to negotiate site wide links on some of their sites.

Thanks for the reply. More questions:
I asked the question regarding the Yahoo credit because I have a site using ico-content with the credit in and my pages are not being indexed as yours are. Do you think taking out the credit makes a lot of difference to the search engines?
Did you pay for the site wide links and if so, will the continue with new owner and when do they expire?

Honestly I have no idea about the indexing. It could be attributed to numerous PR3-5 links to the site? That was my guess.

No the site wide links were not payed for by cash, it was done as a favor to me. I cannot guarantee a length of time they will be up. Though I do know there is no plans to take them down anytime soon.

On a side note, I figured I would break down what you are getting.

ICo software for the domain - $50
    VB Skin - $40
    Databases - $255

So I am looking to get a bare minimum of $350 for the site and stuff with it. :) (and that would not include the value of the links...etc ;))

I think you need to finetune your forums as some post are so short and spilt into title and message.

Like I was saying, I have not done much to the actual site. A lot of the posts and thread titles were done from the ICo content software, I was using it to generate a lot of content to help with SE rankings. If you purchase the site feel free to arrange, display anything the way you want :)

Hm. So why are you asking for $255 for the database then?
