Trasnferred Domains, notify Google?

We recently bought a dot com and moved on from the dot info domain.

How can I notify google of this change? I want them to know both sites are the same :(

I contacted my webhoster so we can setup an 302 redirect, but still no reply.

Is there anyway I can make google realise that abc.com is the same as abc.info? because I don't want to loose my search engine ranks and all :(

    Thanks

You can add your url here:

    http://www.google.com/addurl/

and you can also make your .info site instantly redirect to your .com site,

eventually your .com site will become your main one.

Thanks chosenlight, I'vealready read that article before my problem is -
i can't upload a php or .htaccess file because the URL doesn't have any hosting service?

I moved my hosting service to the new URL, so the FTP login for the old address doesnt work. I don't want to pay for an hosting service just for a redirection :S

would a free host still do this?
    thanks

You need at 301 redirect or you will lose your old SEO and PR!

You can usually do the redirect through your registrars DNS without requiring hosting.

Why dont you change the name servers of both old and new domains to the newest host. Why going for redirection?. THis will work fine and google will not punish you for duplication

Hey, thanks for the reply I did try this with GoDaddy but it doesn't work :(
I tried both 302 and 301 redirections and still no luck, its been a week or so now...

@rena - i forgot where it was mentioned, but this was highly not recommended because google will think of exactly what you said wont happen

Thats strange, I use GoDaddy and the redirects usually work within a few hours.
Try clearing your cache, your computer may have the old DNS cached.

If you internet provider is slow to update their DNS you could also switch that to www.opendns.com
