Translating ObjectID url to SEO firendly url -impact?

    Hi,

    I'm wanting to translate a current ObjectID url to something more meaningful/friendly url.

    Here is just an example.

    Current ObjectID url - http://www.domainname.com/displayobject.cfm/objectid.3ACD1117-B276-4C74-B4C43EE759E18839/tid.6CB08886-408E-45DC-8999F2C338B30AD3

    To friendly url - http://www.domainname.com/displayobject.cfm/region/famous.htm

    I will have some server redirection if a user has bookmarked any objected url to the new friendly url.

    1/ how would Google ranking be affected?
    2/ what are the implications from an SEO perspective?
