Hello. I have a question. I plan launching a new article directory where all articles are translated versions of original English articles taken from popular article sites. No english articles in the new directory, only translations to FR, ES, DE, PT, etc... I also plan to keep the authors' signature intact. Are these translations subject to copyright?
If a work is copyrighted, then you need to obtain permission from the author. I'm sure the majority (if not all) of them would be happy to let you use the articles if you are going to keep their sig in it. Hey that's free exposure for them. It's better to be safe than sorry. Mike
I believe translated documents are subject to copyright which is owned by the "original" author... i.e. the author who didn't just "translate" the document but who wrote it...
