J.D. I hear ya. The setup fees can be nasty, but they have been running no-setup on most of their stuff recently. They have worked out very well for us and after using different companies, running our own full rack of servers, db machines, etc and a combination of both I have been very happy with their servers and service. Just my experience.

TOPS, I checked and it looks like you may want to investigate their deals right now based on what you quoted here. http://www.viaverio.com/index.cfm?page_id=12. FYI, their "Gold" level resellers get it for about $100 less a month.

I meant their configuration setup, though, not their setup fees. The way they do it for shared hosting, it makes it easier for an attacker to figure out internal application structure, IP address assignment, etc. Their control panel wasn't great either - a bunch of loosly-related tools duct-taped together. I wonder if their managed server setup is much better.

I'm after a UK based host though, even when that means paying more.

Also contacted Rackspace now. They seem to be big. Their support seems to be outstanding.
