Transferring wordpress to another host through cpanel

I cant find much info on this online. I realise cpanel has the ability to transfer sites and databases between hosts.
But how does this work exactly with cpanel?

On the new host, will i have to change any details or set up a database, or will everything be transferred and just work?

If anyone could briefly post how I make a wordpress transfer from one host to another through cpanel that would be great :)

    Thanks

    Hi,

This is not entirely corrctly, you can't do site transfer using cpanel only. You need access the WHM for doing the same. and not just reseller WHM you need to root access for doing this. If you login to the wHm panel you could see the option for same.

i think the only way to do a WP transfer is to back up the wp database (save it in a file) and then install WP in the new host and insert the wp database in the new wp. :)

would you have to set up the database including username/password on the new host or it does it automatically?

Yes I meant WHM.. which host do you have to ask to do the transfer for you, the originating host or the new host?

Ask your new hosting provider and give them your old Server IP, usrname and password. They can help you.

    yep, what sreyas said

also, you could have your old host generate a cpmove file (cpanel generated backup file) and your new host could import it for you
