    Hi,

I wasn't sure where to post this so sorry if it is in the wrong section. I have just purchased a site in a private transaction with the registrar being GoDaddy. I am new to using goDaddy and came accorss this 60 day lock? I have not made any changes to the domain and site that has just been transferred to me, am I still able to transfer this site to another person or do I have to wait for 60 days? Any help would be very much appreciated and sorry again if this is posted in the wrong section.

    Harris,

You can push your domain to other account within this 60 days, without any issues.

I believe this 60 days lock applies when you transfer between registrar for newly created domain

The lock of 60 days is that you cant trnafser to another registrar but there is no lock in pushing to another Godaddy account. You can push to any Godaddy account as many times as you want :)

I don't know why GoDaddy puts the 60 days lock on the domains. Just have whoever you are transferring to get a free GoDaddy account, then push to them and they can transfer it when the 60 days is up. Other registrars like EconomicalDomains.com does not have the same 60 day lock on the domain names.

60 days lock for newly registered domains is mandatory, no one can offer an escape from it.
Before you buy good to choose your registrar wisely and avoid all the hassle and start your website in no time.
