I was planning to transfer my site from Joomla to Wordpress.. http://samalbeaches.com/ Current permalink is this http://samalbeaches.com/index.php/R...each/Resort/Paradise-Island-Beach-Resort.html . I want to change it in this format http://samalbeaches.com/Paradise-Island-Beach-Resort.html but I some SEO things that I am not sure about.. 1. If I will going to apply 301 redirect in old URL- Will the ranking[SERP] of my new URL can inherit the previous SERP? Or it can pass the PR/link juice in my new URL 100%? 2. What is the Good 301 redirect technique that I will use? in cpanel? or manual code? or httaccess 3. What about the article? I want to copy the article in my previous site to new one. is this okay? If the post office can forward your mail when you move and file a change of address notice, your SERPs will still remain the same and your PageRank will still pass normally. If there IS a decrease, it will be temporary. You'd use the 301 in your .htaccess file, and there's no need to copy the article. Just move it to the new location and tell the search engines and users where it now is with the 301 redirect.
