Hi, I have a site which has some page rank and I plan to allow the domain to expire. To keep my visitors who currently visit this domain, before it expires I could start re-directing the domain to another domain I have, which also has some PR. I also plan to transfer the content from the old domain to the other domain. But I understand that if I do re-direct the old domain, when it expires the PR on the other domain will be transferred to it. I've no doubt that it will be taken over by spammers and I don't want to give them any PR. Could someone please clarify this issue, thanks.
No redirecting will not pass the PR.... You can pass PR only when you link the newsite from old one...
Never heard that you can transfer PR. If you don't want spammers to use your old domain, then just park it. Or just keep it registered and do nothing with it.
old domain will loose pr for some time after expire of domain but the other can build the pr easily from the backlinks made by you.
parking it is the best options if u want to let expire him, like is 10$ the registration, if you have good traffic with it he will generated 10$ in less then a month if you park it use sedo.com for that
