    Hey,

Is it possible to transfer names from one seller to another/ or to someone else for free? Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I really need to know.

    Thanks,

    Okay thanks for replies.

When people sell domains, do they normally leave cost of transfer down to buyer?

    Thanks,

    depends..

most of the time..they just do a free push..meaning transfer to another account with the same registrar..

ofcourse you can transfer it to your own registrar..but that cost is not included when you buy a domain from another person.

From my experience, domain name registrars usually allow people to open accounts for free so the free push makes sense when selling a domain name. What's important is that the domain name gets transferred to the buyer. What the buyer wants to do after that is pretty much his choice.

Transferring out a domain name to another person at another registrar is really a very tricky thing especially when it comes to security. Doing it within the same registrar is the way to go.

Moving from one registrar to another would involve the buyer to pay for another year of registration. The transfer in itself is still free but you are obligated to extend the registration by another year.
