[Wasn't sure where this topic went. Sorry if it's in the wrong place.]

I want to transfer a few of my forums to another host but I'm not completely sure how to do this. Can someone tell me how? Very simply, not too technical.:S
Also, if someone else was going to transfer it for me, do they need cPanel access or just ftp?

Simple, go to your cpanel, and create backups of your entire site to your computer.
    Upload to new host.

Or ask new host if they will do the transfer.

For someone else to do it, yes cpanel and ftp.

Same as moving any other site.

If I give cPanel is there a way to restrict access? They can't get to my e-mail, stats, etc.

If you have WHM at both hosts then this should not be a problem at all. The other method mentioned by Iowadawg is fairly simple. You can take backups of your database, create a new ftp account, upload the database there and provide it to your new host.

If you cPanel password is different your emaill password, one can only login to your main account from CPanel webmail. You can also used Password Protected directory from cPanel to protect some of your files.
