Transferring a domain

A simple question but I can't find the answer!!

I am purchasing a .com domain that still has a couple of years before expiring.

I want it transferred to the registrar I usually use (rather than open an account with the registrar it is currently with). But in doing that will I lose those years or are they transferred with the domain?

    Cheers
    Jill

The registration date does not change, you just add a year to the expiry date.

You will not loose the extra years , one more year will be added after domain transfer is complete.
