    Hi

    I have a question..

Lets say I registered a domain on 1 dec 2008.
Now, If I want to transfer it, will my domain date change with only transfer cost? Or It will remain same as 1 dec??

    Thanks

no most registrars will ask you to pay and when you pay they will renew it for one year

They add an extra year to your domain (ie - 2009 to 2010).

Domains also need to be more than 60 days old to transfer, and domains take upto 5 days to transfer.

make sure you check if the domain name can be transferred before you actually initiate the transfer request..it becomes a little irritating if the transfer request just fails because of something like a domain lock..in some cases like .UK, the transfer does not add one year to the domain..

Well, .co.uk ones are more of a registrar switch than a transfer, as it changes the ISPTAG.

    I did not understand it...

Lets say I regged my domain on 1 dec 2008. And now toady (18 Feb 2009) I transfer it, so my expiry date will be same as 1 dec 2009 or it will be 18 feb 2010 ?

Before transfer, the exp date is 1 dec 09, and after transfer it will be 1 dec 2010. One year is adding to the date (like a renewal)
