I have a PR3 site but i am thinking of changing its domain name as it is not easy to remember.

Now, will a 301 permanent redirect help in getting the new domain the old PR ?
Is there any other method to preserve PR ?

so far 301 redirection is the best way that i could think of... and its normal that it takes time to transfer all rankings

301 is the only way currently, and it won't bleed it all over. You need to update your inbound links to get the full juice.

The 301 redirect might be a way to transfer PageRank. Though, the PageRank may reset to 0 for a while (usually happens like that), then come back to its original PageRank.

Go that way, I can't think of another way.
