    Hi guys,

I recently had my domain mail-maniac.com linked to one.com, a hosting provider. I would like to move it to a hostgator hatchling account, but I don't know how to transfer it. there is an option called

"I will use My Existing Domain and update My Nameservers only."

But that sais that I should update my nameserver, and I really don't know how to do that (and what that is :p ) . Can't hostgator simply request the domain at my old host? I have te EPP key ready.

You don't need to transfer your domain to hostgator, that would cost you some money too..Just change the nameservers of your domain.
I think hostgator have told you the dns...something like:
    dns123.hostgator.com
    dns124.hostgator.com

mmm,. I'm starting to figure out how this works. Please correct me if I'm wrong :)

There are two types of servers; DNS servers (registry rocket) and Hosting servers (Hostgator). Because I cancelled my account at one.com, I lost both my DNSserver and my Hosting server, right? Now I need to register my domain to a new DNS server, and tell the DNS server to link to my hosting server at serverx.hostgator.com , right?

The data in my whois displays:

Joker.com appears to be my registrar. However, I don't have a username/password at joker to update my dns server.

I think you can log into the "# CONTROL PANEL" and change your nameservers there,I've never used them so I can't tell you the steps! :(

    I checked the control panel but it wasn't possible. I'm switching the domain over to registryrocket and the webaccount to hostgator. To achieve this I must;

    - Request a hostgator account
    - Register at registry rocket and transfer my domain
    - Log in at registry rocket and set the DNS name server to the ones provided in the hostgator email.
    - Upload my website to the new server

    Am i correct?

    thx!

Ok I have received my hostgator account. I currently have one domain, but I would like to purchase some other domains within the near future and link them to the same hostgator account. I can upload my website to a folder called public_html but where do I upload the other website in the future? I don't want to mix the files together in the same folder on the server, that would become very confusing.

I moved my domain from joker.com to registryrocket.com, and I received some output on my screen saying that it all went perfectly. However, I haven't received a confirmation email nor am I able to log in using user mail-maniac.com . Did something went wrong or does it take several hours before they create an account at registryrocket? I am a little bit scared...

    it's hard being a newb.. :p

I'm really sorry for posting again under my topic guys, but I'm a little bit concerned about my domain.

I've purchased a HG hatchling account yesterday and I transferred my domain from a different hosting provider to hostgator. I got redirected to a site called registryrocket and I transferred my domain. When I purchased the transfer I got some text in my webbrowser saying that it worked, but I have never received an email from hostgator/registryrocket about my domain.

I tried to log into my registryrocket account but it is giving me the following error:

    --------
    Error: Domain name not found
    --------

Am I overconcerned and does it take several hours to create a registryrocket account, or did something really went wrong?

Isn't that dangerious to do that? Isn't there a possibility that you hijack it or anything? I'm not accusing you, I'm just really new in this area.

I cant hijack your domain. As long as you have registered the domain, it will not be unregistered by anyone. It can only expire.

And to all of you rest, stay away from one.com, they are like registerfly, just shit.
