Transfer .info with traffic to .com - or just start blog over on .com?

I have a .info blog that I started as a personal blog and have sort of gone another direction with it. In the meantime I get traffic, and revenue, that I do not want to lose 100% of, but I think that I could increase the authority with a .com, much faster.

Would you recommend trying to transfer the blog to a .com (if possible, how would I do that easily with wordpress), or should I just bite the bullet and take the traffic hit and start over from scratch in the new direction on a .com of the same name?

I know I would get traffic initially, I just don't want to lose the posts I do have that gain traffic.

IF this makes any sense, I would appreciate your thoughts, especially if you have done this before yourself.

    Thanks.

You may be able to get a better reply from either the SEO section or the Marketing section :)

I don't know the exact answer for your question. But I guess what you can do initially is to redirect all your traffic to your .com. You can try post in Word Press forum to see if you can get a better reply on transferring the traffic.

One another suggestion will be keeping your .info since it is making you revenue, and then do start a .com. You can also try to be more focused for your new .com domain (as you said that the .info blog started as personal then gone another direction, so maybe this .com can be more focused in that "another direction).

    Good luck :)

let it run on parallel and see how it goes. if the .info is generating income, let it roll. Just put your future effort in a more promising direction.
