    Hi,

I purchased a website from DP, the domain is actually only a few days old.

Can I transfer this into my name?

    Thanks

    Both.

I want the whois of course in my name.

But I also want the domain at "My" registrar so I have control of it.

Well, you can change the Whois to your name but a new domain cannot be moved out of the registrar for the first 60 days. After which you can move it out.

Keep it to the current registrar for now, it does not cost you anything since it would have been paid up for a year.

That wouldn't give me control would it?

Or do I simply setup an account with the registrar and move it at a future date?

    Thank YOu

If the current registrar has free push system, you should make an account there and ask the seller to push you the domain (Free push works even if the domain is not 60 days old). You can then change the whois. Also you can transfer it to another registrar if you like.

Most Domain Name Registrar would allow you to create a free account where the other party can push the domain name to you. Once it is in your account, you can pretty much do anything you want apart from transferring it out of them for the first 60 days.

Namecheap, Domainsite or any eNom reseller will allow you to create a free account. GoDaddy offers free account but it will be created at the point when the account is pushed to you.
